Module 4 Theatre & Stage Make Up

Theatre and Stage makeup is an important element of any production.  You will learn how this type of make-up application must be more dramatic than what you would normally apply, as it must clearly be seen at the back row of the theatre. You will learn how essential it is to consider the effects of stage lighting, the mood of the performance as well as the types of costumes and the stage setting of the production. Your makeup choices should enhance the nature of the performance and create the illusion that the actor is his character. Often, a role calls for “character” makeup, such as stylized fairies, animals, or a look of old age. Make-up can accomplish all of these looks and many more!

What Do I Need to Buy?

Students need to purchase the Theatre & Stage Make Up Kit which is made up of a mixture of suitable theatrical & stage cosmetics.  The kit will start you off in the business of Make Up Artistry and you can buy it directly at the wholesale price from our supplier.  Details of this kit may be obtained on request. Students will also need to purchase the course text book.
